General Information
The Norfolk County Quilters Guild has several ways of contributing to the community in our area. On a regular basis the guild makes quilts that are donated to the Breast Cancer Society. One year the donation goes to the local organization, and alternate years the quilt produced is sent to the regional office.
As part of our month activities a dedicated group of volunteers assemble in the morning of our regular meeting day to make quilts which are distributed by 2 different organizations, the Womens Shelter and the local Children's Aid Society. Many generous members also donate quilts made on their own time, using their own materials.
A new initiative this year will be the making of Carry-All Bags for the families who fall under the auspices of these services. A number of styles will be demonstrated at morning gatherings as the year progresses.
A guideline of sizes for quilts is as follows.
Preemies 18" x 25" or 25" square
Newborn 25" x 40"
Toddler 35" x 45"
Child/Youth 40" x 60"
